Lagos records another coronavirius death, a 66-year-old Briton

Lagos state has recorded a third death from coronavirus complications. 

This was disclosed via Twitter by Professor Akin Abayomi, the State’s Commissioner for Health. 

In his tweet on Wednesday, Abayomi stated that the victim is a 66-year-old citizen of the United Kingdom.  

According to Abayomi, the victim travelled from India via Dubai and entered Lagos on the 17th of March, 2020. 

The Commissioner also confirmed that cases of Coronavirus had increased by 10, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 130. 

He further disclosed that another COVID-19 patient has been discharged after full recovery, this brings the number of discharged patients to 32. 

On Tuesday, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced 16 new cases of the disease across the country. 

Of the new cases, Lagos has 10, two in the Federal Capital Territory and Oyo State, while Delta and Katsina States has one case each. 

The number of recoveries nationwide is 44 while the total number of deaths from the disease is 7. 

There are 254 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country as of Tuesday.
