With only few days to the delivery of a verdict by the Malawi Constitutional Court, the political environment in Malawi is becoming so unpredictable.

Atupele Muluzi, president, United Democratic Front (UDF), the former ruling and fourth largest political party, paid a courtesy visit to Malawi Congress Party (MCP) president, Dr. Lazarus Chakwera.

Speaking to the media after the visit, Muluzi was full of praises to the character and leadership skills of the MCP president.

Responding, Chakwera said the meeting with the leadership of UDF was fruitful and both parties were looking forward to building a better Malawi.

“I held fruitful discussion with (the) United Democratic Front, about how we can overcome our differences and join hands in nation-building going forward,” he said.

Prior to the Malawi’s May 2019 General elections, son of the former Malawi President, Atupele Muluzi, was a cabinet member of the Malawi Government. He unsuccessfully contests in both presidential and parliamentary elections.
